Mary Joanne Sadaya-Guillermo, PT, CMTPT, CSCI, CPI, CRP
Joanne graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from Cebu Doctors’ University, Philippines in 1989. She has been a licensed, practicing PT since 1990 and has continually worked in various areas of Physical Therapy since moving to the United States. Such areas include acute-care hospitals, home healthcare, nursing home/ long term rehab care and outpatient neurological/ orthopedic & sports medicine clinics. She has additionally been involved in canine rehabilitation. While in the acute-care hospital setting, she specialized in burn/ wound care, until her duties and focus shifted to workman’s compensation injuries. This included both acute orthopedic care and work hardening. She served as the Director of Rehab for two outpatient orthopedic & sports medicine clinics and a home healthcare agency. Joanne was also involved in the start-up process and marketing of the physical therapy departments.
Joanne’s specialization is now in outpatient Orthopedic and Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. Her caseload includes both acute and chronic care orthopedic injuries, with special focus on post-operative care. She utilizes a variety of manual therapy techniques including, but not limited to, soft tissue and joint mobilizations, myofascial release, Strain Counterstrain techniques (spine & extremities- I & II), and Intramuscular Therapy/ Dry Needling techniques. She is a Certified Manual Trigger Point Therapist (Dry Needling- Intramuscular Therapy), Certified Strength & Conditioning Instructor and a Certified Pilates Instructor (floor exercises).
