Alissa Telchin, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
Alissa grew up in Brooklyn and Central New Jersey. She graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with her Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology and Physiology with a concentration in Business. While at University of Maryland, she had an internship at the NIH. After graduating, Alissa worked for Roche Diagnostics in their manufacturing laboratory. Alissa decided to pursue a career in physical therapy to follow her passion to help people. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. Alissa enjoys treating patients with all conditions, but is interested in treating upper extremity (shoulder, elbow, wrist) injuries. She completed Certificate in Advanced Practice in Hand and Upper Quarter Rehabilitation from Drexel University.
Alissa has experience working in the hospital, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient orthopedic settings. She is a certified clinical instructor from the APTA (American Physical Therapy Association) and in the Graston® Technique. She has completed many continuing education courses, including McKenzie Method, Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars, and Mulligan Concept. She is a member of the APTA.
In her spare time, Alissa enjoys traveling, knitting, salsa dancing, cooking/baking, and exploring the DMV.
